Mrs B M McMorran is listed at 718 East 11th Avenue in 1940; the 1940 line is marked *: some member of the family owns the property, to the best of our knowledge (the directory's own mark). The 1940 name section lists Blanche M McMorran there as the householder, widow of W T, with Stan L McMorran, a clerk at Columbia Paper.

A McMorran is listed at 326 East 24th Avenue in 1940. The 1940 name section lists Albert McMorran there as the householder. E J McMorran is listed at 578 East Broadway in 1940. The 1940 name section lists Earl J McMorran there as the householder, a salesman at Smith & Smith.

The 1940 name section lists Jane McMorran at 226 East King Edward Avenue. The 1940 name section lists Reuben E McMorran at 1161 Granville Street, a salesman for C J Archer. L McMorran is listed at 3992 Ontario Street in 1940; the 1940 line is marked * too. The 1940 name section lists Lawrence McMorran there as the householder, a laborer.

G E McMorran is listed at 1715 West 14th Avenue in 1940. The 1940 name section lists Gordon E McMorran there as the householder, proprietor of Royal Blue Taxi. O S McMorran, a plumber, is listed at 1071 West 16th Avenue in 1940; the 1940 line is marked * too. The 1940 name section lists Oscar S McMorran there, a plumber, with A Stewart McMorran, a student at UBC.

Today

630 East 11th, 1161 Granville and 3992 Ontario still have their buildings from before 1946, 1161 Granville on the Vancouver Heritage Register; the City no longer lists 718 East 11th, 326 East 24th, 578 East Broadway, 226 East King Edward, 1715 West 14th and 1071 West 16th, so those buildings are probably gone (inferred).

Henderson's and successor city directories for Vancouver, read by us line by line: the street sections for 1905, 1915, 1925, 1935, 1940 and 1945, and the name section for 1930 and 1940 where we've read it (Vancouver Public Library, BC City Directories). Names are shown through 1945, as printed. Close spellings are grouped, as on the house pages, since a family's name was often spelled differently from one year to the next; one name can still be several families, and we join lines only where the first names or initials agree.
