The 1940 name section lists John Livesey at 1632 Nelson Street, an engineer. In 1940 the directory lists J M Livsey at 2720 West 24th Avenue. The 1940 name section lists James M Livsey there as the householder, a dealer for J R Watkins, with Lucy M Livsey.

In 1940 the directory lists J B Livsey at 2067 West 2nd Avenue. The 1940 name section lists James B Livsey there as the householder, a timekeeper, with Mary M Livsey, and William A Livsey, a porter at Spencer's. The 1940 name section lists Reginald H Livsey at 2143 West 49th Avenue, on active service.

Mrs M Livesey is listed at 1357 West Georgia Street in 1940. The 1940 name section lists Mabel Livesey there as the householder, widow of R, with James Livesey, a clerk at Dun & Bradstreet.

Today

2720 West 24th still has its building from before 1946, dated 1915 by the City's record; 2143 West 49th (1989) has a newer building, by the City's record; the City no longer lists 1629 East Broadway, 1632 Nelson, 2067 West 2nd and 1357 West Georgia, so those buildings are probably gone (inferred).

Henderson's and successor city directories for Vancouver, read by us line by line: the street sections for 1905, 1915, 1925, 1935, 1940 and 1945, and the name section for 1930 and 1940 where we've read it (Vancouver Public Library, BC City Directories). Names are shown through 1945, as printed. Close spellings are grouped, as on the house pages, since a family's name was often spelled differently from one year to the next; one name can still be several families, and we join lines only where the first names or initials agree.
