Mrs C Husband is listed at 896 East 28th Avenue in 1940; the 1940 line is marked *: some member of the family owns the property, to the best of our knowledge (the directory's own mark). The 1940 name section lists Cath Husband there as the householder, widow of C W. The 1940 name section lists Henry Husband at 588 East 29th Avenue.

The 1940 name section lists Janet Husband at 350 East 45th Avenue, a saleswoman at Wilbee's Service Stores, with Robina Husband, a branch manager at Wilbee's Service Stores. R L Husband is listed at 3716 Knight Street in 1940. The 1940 name section lists Rupert L Husband there as the householder, a fireman at the CPR. C Husband is listed at 739 Lakewood Drive in 1940.

In 1940 the directory lists W A Husband at 2746 Napier Street. The 1940 name section lists William A Husband there as the householder, a machinist at Boyles Bros. The 1940 name section lists Wallace T Husband at 3707 West 34th Avenue, a salesman at the Northern Electric.

A P Husband is listed at 2272 West 6th Avenue in 1940. The 1940 name section lists Alex P Husband there as the householder, a driver at Cascade Laundry, with Robert P Husband, a clerk for Remington Rand. The 1940 name section lists Christina Husband at 2296 West 8th Avenue, a laundress at Pioneer Laundry.

In 1940 the directory lists J Husband at 2425 West 8th Avenue. The 1940 name section lists John Husband there as the householder, a machinist for A R Williams. The 1940 name section lists Gustav Husband at 2412 Yale Street, a deckhand.

Today

753 Cardero, 350 East 45th, 2746 Napier, 3707 West 34th and 2296 West 8th still have their buildings from before 1946, 2296 West 8th on the Vancouver Heritage Register; 896 East 28th (1979), 588 East 29th (1986) and 2425 West 8th (1987) have newer buildings, by the City's record; the City no longer lists 3716 Knight, 739 Lakewood Drive, 2272 West 6th and 2412 Yale, so those buildings are probably gone (inferred).

Henderson's and successor city directories for Vancouver, read by us line by line: the street sections for 1905, 1915, 1925, 1935, 1940 and 1945, and the name section for 1930 and 1940 where we've read it (Vancouver Public Library, BC City Directories). Names are shown through 1945, as printed. Close spellings are grouped, as on the house pages, since a family's name was often spelled differently from one year to the next; one name can still be several families, and we join lines only where the first names or initials agree.
