The 1940 name section, where each person's work is printed, lists Eliza M Huggins at 1086 Bute Street, widow of J, with Miss M Huggins, a hairdresser at the Hudson's Bay Company. Miss E Huggins is listed at 111 East 27th Avenue in 1940. The 1940 name section lists Ella Huggins there as the householder, a clerk at Spencer's. The 1940 name section lists Florence Huggins at 975 East 55th Avenue.

The 1940 name section lists Cecil H Huggins at 2726 Main Street. A Huggins is listed at 3869 Main Street in 1940. The 1940 name section lists Allan Huggins there as the householder, a millworker.

Mrs A L Huggins is listed at 1948 Templeton Drive in 1940; the 1940 line is marked *: some member of the family owns the property, to the best of our knowledge (the directory's own mark). The 1940 name section lists Ada L Huggins there as the householder, widow of H. R M Huggins is listed at 3051 Venables Street in 1940. The 1940 name section lists Richard M Huggins there as the householder, a mechanic at Oxford Motors.

The 1940 name section lists Arthur Huggins at 1743 West 11th Avenue, a warehouseman for Kelly Douglas, with Mrs Eleanor I Huggins. The 1940 name section lists Florence Huggins at 3392 West 35th Avenue, a maid for R McLennan.

Today

1086 Bute, 111 East 27th and 1948 Templeton Drive still have their buildings from before 1946; 975 East 55th (1987), 3051 Venables (1972) and 3392 West 35th (2017) have newer buildings, by the City's record; the City no longer lists 2726 Main, 3869 Main and 1743 West 11th, so those buildings are probably gone (inferred).

Henderson's and successor city directories for Vancouver, read by us line by line: the street sections for 1905, 1915, 1925, 1935, 1940 and 1945, and the name section for 1930 and 1940 where we've read it (Vancouver Public Library, BC City Directories). Names are shown through 1945, as printed. Close spellings are grouped, as on the house pages, since a family's name was often spelled differently from one year to the next; one name can still be several families, and we join lines only where the first names or initials agree.
