In 1905 the directory names John Walter McMeekin here. In 1935 it printed only “Orientals” at this door; ten years on it names T Nakai. In 1940 the name section gives this address for T Nakai, a minister at the Kon Ko Kyo Church (page 452; joined to the 1940 listing, where the first name or initials agree, inferred).

The address
A permit to build a frame house (the register's number: “ or 666-668”) was taken out in January 1903 by John McMeekin, owner and builder: $1,200; the 1905 directory lists the McMeekin name here. (inferred) (the register's number for it is uncertain, but the owner's name is one the directories list here) Then a new name in each directory: Lewis (no first name printed) in 1915 and S Isaac in 1925. In 1940 T Nakai is one of two listings at the number. By 1945 the Nakai name has gone and S Parker is listed.
Where the directory printed “Orientals”, its canvassers wrote a group label in place of the residents' names; we show what was printed, and the names it never recorded we can't give.
Today
The wood-frame building Goad's 1912 map draws at 666 stood on land that is part of 668 Keefer Street today (inferred); the 1955 directory, the last we read still lists a household there, but the City no longer lists the number, so it is probably gone (inferred). Next door, 658, on the heritage register, still has its building from before 1946, one of five on the block.
