The house
In 1905 the directory lists John Draney, a canner.
In 1915 the directory lists Alex Young.
In 1925 the directory lists T B Christie.
In 1935 the directory lists B Ronald.
In 1945 the directory lists C N Johnson.
Today
The City no longer lists this address. Lots here were merged or redeveloped, so the building is almost certainly gone. On the 1912 fire insurance map it stood on land that is part of 77 East Broadway today (inferred). We confirmed the number through the heritage register: Goad's 1912 prints “2441” on lot 9 block 50; corner lot; the number is printed on the Quebec side.
The neighbours
The 2400 block of Quebec Street. Your lot is outlined in red; pick a year to see who the directory lists on every lot.
The record
Each directory's listing for this address, as printed, with its page at the Vancouver Public Library. *: some member of the family owns the property, to the best of our knowledge (the directory's own mark, printed from 1935).
- Draney, Johncanner
- Johnson C N
No Quebec Street in this directory: no 2400-block entries in 1955 (1915-1945: 2438 and 2441); the directory prints "E 8th and E Bway intersect" with nothing between.
