The building today
The building the 1940 directory knew is gone: the City dates the building at 150 now to 1982; across the street, 157, on the heritage register, still has one from before 1946, one of two on the block. A permit to build apartment/rooms at 148, 150 and 152 Alexander was taken out in May 1912 by Brown & Howey: builder Egdell & Dixon, architect Braunton & Leibert, $50,000.
