What they did

The name section prints a trade for two of the four: a carpenter and a foreman. One is a widow, listed under her own name.

The story, address by address

In 1940 the directory lists C A Cheverton at 3923 Knight Street. The 1940 name section, where each person's work is printed, lists Charles A Cheverton there as the householder, a carpenter. In 1940 the directory lists G Chiverton at 5392 Nanaimo Street; the 1940 line is marked *: some member of the family owns the property, to the best of our knowledge (the directory's own mark). The 1940 name section lists George Chiverton there as the householder, a foreman at the City of Vancouver.

In 1940 the directory lists Mrs A M Chiverton at 562 West 21st Avenue; the 1940 line is marked * too. The 1940 name section lists Alice M Chiverton there as the householder, widow of W, with Grace Chiverton, of S C Creations and Western Hosiery Repair Service.

Today

562 West 21st still has its building from before 1946, dated 1926 by the City's record; the City no longer lists 3923 Knight and 5392 Nanaimo, so those buildings are probably gone (inferred).
